(CLP) Contra Moral Minimalism

Here is a column by economist Robert Reich, disputing the idea of moral minimalism as applied to the economic realm. I suspect analogous arguments apply to law as well.  http://truth-out.org/news/item/14661-the-minimum-wage-guns-healthcare-and-the-meaning-of-a-decent-society

If what this person is saying is true and the "market" is indeed just an idea, that holds structure, what holds our society from taking its necessary steps to become more efficient? Is it that we are too greedy and conservative to promote change?

I'm not sure I follow what you're saying. Could you reframe it more slowly for me, and with statements rather than questions?
