Confusing Pedagogy

Here's the Chronicle article I mentioned about Derek Muller's research on teaching through confusion. It would probably be worth tracking down his actual research, for those of you working on related issues. http://chronicle.com/article/Confuse-Students-to-Help-Them/148385/

I really enjoyed this article, it makes a lot of really great points about confusing enough for students to learn but not confusing them too much so that they snap and refuse to want to learn more. Learning by being confused a little helps a person learn to problem solve, and figure out the answer. Because they have to do this through a process they are more likely to remember it better than being taught straight forward. Overall, a really great article
